Kailasagiri with hilltop parks and sea view is also one of the most liked spots. Visakhapatnam has many more surprises for the tourists, Come let us unfold the thrills and chills of City of Destiny.
R.K.Beach in the mid town
R.K.Beach is one among the most visited beach because it is located in middle of the town just 3-4kms far from Visakhapatnam Railway Station. This Beach is calm and cool in nature but not good for swimming and water sports, So it is not recommended to go beyond knee-length into water. Apart from the Soothing Sea waves which welcome you, There are vendors on the banks to sell delicious eatables, and other decorative items made of sea shells. One more thing is Horse ride is also available here.
Rishikonda Beach is 10kms away from Visakhapatnam Railway Station, You can even reach Rishikonda Beach by riding through the Marine Drive from R.K.Beach. Rishikonda Beach is a better choice if you want to swim and even enjoy water sports . Tug boats are available which take you on a ride 1km into sea.
Bheemunipatnam is one of the oldest civilized Municipality in and around Visakhapatnam. Bheemunipatnam has some traces of Buddhism. Beaches in Bheemunipatnam are rock solid with combination of hills. One more prominent thing about Bheemili beaches are sculptures and art work, A mermaid statue in the Bheemili beach is also a special attraction and it is believed that Lord Bheema has stayed here some time back in the history. So it has great historical importance. A Narsimha Swamy temple on hill is also worth visiting.
Yarada Beach is a 15 km ride from Visakhapatnam, But it is a enjoyable location. To reach there you have to travel a Ghat road up the hill and then go downwards to reach the Beach, You will pass through naval quarters before you reach this beach. One thing to keep in mind is don’t stay late after sun set, Because it may prove to be unsafe at night times.
Gangavaram Beach is an amazing place which is just near to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. This Beach was used for movie shootings for most of the Telugu movies and Oriya movies, But recently after Construction of Gangavaram port, Beauty of the Beach Has diminished.
Kailasagiri Hill Park
Kailasagiri Hill Park is located in 6-8kms from Visakhapatnam. You may go to Kailasagiri hills from RTC complex or you can take the marine drive from RK Beach. After reaching to Bottom of the Kailasagiri hills you can take the rope way to go up, I recommend you to take the rope way which is highly enjoyable. As you reach top of the hill you will see a Gigantic Statue of Lord Shiva and Parvathi and small parks which offers you amazing view of the Beaches, that is must see sight.

Borra Caves is the prime attraction of Araku Valley, Borra in Telugu literally means hollow These Borra caves are formed by Force exerted by River Gosthani on the limestone areas making a cave like shape in the hills. and while flowing through there were different shapes formed inside the caves these shapes were regarded as Shiv Parvathi, mother and child. Chaproyi – Good for enjoying in group
Chaproyi is a nice place to enjoy, there is big stone like area where you can sit and just feel the chilled water passing through you. Chaproyi is also must visit place, This is actually a water fall that flows not fiercely and one big advantage is you feel you are in water and on land, some even enjoy hot tea or coffee while their feet is dipped in chilled water.
Padmapurami Gardens is also good place to enjoy flower plants and trees, most attractive part is tree top guest houses where you can stay a night, Good idea for honeymoon couples! . It is a great place for photography too.
Araku Tribal Museum
Tribal Museum is a nice place to visit, There are many sculptures and handicrafts showcasing lifestyle of tribal men and women of Araku.
